Upperville Racing LLC
k.nobert@yahoo.com

Upperville Racing LLC is a recently created and locally-based thoroughbred racing partnership. What started with one great little filly in September 2009 has grown into a 3 horse racing group, and we are looking to grow the partnership into a Loudoun County-based racing syndicate with additional partners and horses. The horses will be boarded and trained locally in Middleburg, Virginia, at a racing / steeplechase barn on 100+ acres adjacent to the Middleburg Traning Track. We have engaged an old school horseman who uses a non-conventional approach to training... he turns his horses out so they can be horses, swims them at the Middleburg Swim Center, breezes them locally, and exercises them x-country.

Our plan is to run the horses locally for now - Charles Town, Laurel, Pimlico, Colonel Downs, and Delaware... with an occasional trip to Philly, Penn National, or Monmouth, depending on the horse. Please email me with questions and to schedule a time to talk.

Vaquera Ranch
10011 Duncan Road
Petersburg, VA 23803
(505) 429-8418

Based on the principles of respecting the horse how he naturally behaves, his way of thinking, and what he needs to feel safe and trust us. Natural horsemanship training methods allow the horse to make the choice to be with us and do what he is being asked without us having to force or even hurt the horse. Natural horsemanship means to respect the horse's nature and keep him and treat him as close to his nature as possible.

Kids will learn their horse ABC's from the beginning, on real horses, who actually do what horses do. They are not dull mounts you have to kick constantly to go or pull their mouth to stop. Kids will learn why horses do what they do. They will learn how to teach a horse some basic groundwork and also the beginnings of riding.

The natural horsemanship program is a full and all inclusive package where kids learn how to work with horses, respecting their very nature and building a truly trusting relationship with these powerful yet gentle animals.
