Small farm located 15 miles from Virginia Horse Center. Four stall barn. 3-4 acre paddocks. Individual care, daily handling, weekly grooming, and blanketing. Pics taken monthly and emailed to you. We provide quality hay (timothy mix) and pelleted feed for older horses. Minor injuries handled by facility; any major medical issues are the expense of owner. Quarterly worming is included. Yearly shots, farrier services, veterinary issues, and supplements are the responsibility of the owners. In the summer, horses are stabled during the day and turned out at dusk. During winter months, horse are stabled at night and turned out during the day. Geldings preferred.

We offer a wide range of camps from beginner through advanced. In our camps, we learn the basic skills of horsemanship, grooming, bathing, tacking, and riding. Our camps also include swimming, arts and crafts, painting horses, fishing, canoeing, trail riding, equine photography, campfires with s'mores, picnics, and more.

Lessons -
Our lesson program at Fair Winds Farm is designed for the first time rider through the advanced level. Instructors are experienced in dressage, eventing and hunter/jumper. Our goal is a friendly, stress-free environment that creates safe and happy horses and riders. We participate in shows, clinics, and inspections and are happy to coach our students, but showing is not required. We offer private lessons all throughout the week and weekend.

Trail Rides -
A guided tour of Fair Winds Farm along the beautiful shores of Back Bay. You can meet our visiting ospreys, blue herons, cattle egrets, killdeers, and bald eagles.
