Marie has over twenty-five years experience coaching students. She trains and coaches horse and rider from ground up through FEI (and across disciplines).
Marie was trained by the late Major Robert Borg, an Olympic veteran who both coached and rode-on the Olympic dressage team for the US in the 1948-1956 Olympics. Major Borg's accomplishments include obtaining the highest placing to date for the US in dressage, securing the team silver medal.
Marie had the rare opportunity to work under the daily tutelage of Major Borg and was classically trained through the judicious application of effective methodology. By these clear, simple, and yet concise methods, the horse is kept relaxed, happy, and correctly forward thinking in his training.
Marie's aim is to develop the partnership between horse and rider, with a focus on the athletic development of the horse for long term physical and mental soundness as it moves up the training scale.

Dressage training. Gabriele "Gabi" Hooten and The Solid Rock Farm are dedicated to the training of horse and rider in the art of classical dressage. Gabriele is also a USDF L graduate and available for judging.
Our goal is to train each horse to be obedient, light on the aids, fun to ride, and reach its fullest potential - whether competing successfully at horseshows, going confidently on relaxing trail rides, or safely taking care of an ambitious teenager. It all depends on the owner's wishes.
Gabriele is a Bereiter FN, a German licensed professional dressage trainer and instructor with over 20 years of experience. She has studied under some of the best German professional dressage trainers for many years, most notably Reitmaster Guenther Festerling, one of only five German Masters to have achieved the highest level of professional training.
Gabriele's show record includes many Championships and Horse of the Year Awards since coming to the USA in 1993.
