We specialize in carriage driving and training for both equines and drivers. We offer a range of instruction for recreational drivers and those with competitive interests. Our driving center has a 50 ft. round pen, a well fenced training arena, a 100 meter x 40 meter driven dressage court, three permanent Combined Driving hazards, and trails for training cross country. Training programs can be tailored to meet the client's specific needs.

We care for your horses like they're our own. Our farm features a full service equine facility. We have 24x24' stalls, two turnouts, a 50' round pen, tackrooms, a bathroom, and miles of trails. The all-weather footing outdoor arena measures 100'x200' and features lights for evening riding. The love of horses is what brings us together, and RCF gives quality care to your horses and ponies. Horses boarded at RCF are given a mixture of alfalfa & grass hay fed 2 times per day. For additional fees, we can develop a feeding program specifically tailored to your horse's particular needs.

Safe Haven Horse Rescue was started by Linda Richards in 1995. We are a no kill shelter & take in the old, unwanted, neglected, and abused horses. Horses we have cared for range in age from 40 years old to 4 weeks old! When we have horses who do not have enough teeth to eat hay, they live on a mush mixture that Linda has refined over the years, and the horses are very healthy & spry.

Safe Haven has a sponsorship program and provides riding lessons for children & adults.

We have a major fundraising event each year: a "Play Day" at the local arena here in Cottonwood, CA. We have events for lead line all the way up to advanced riders. The local supporters in the area really look forward to our "Play Day" every year.

Safe Haven also provides community service for seniors in high school and for minor offenses thru peer court here in Shasta County.

The bottom line that says it all is our motto: "For the Love of Horses."
