The Shire is a new full service show facility in Oxford, PA. We are a family run facility for professional and amateur riders to enjoy. We compete, train, and work with a positive attitude towards other riders and horses. We believe in finding the best method for you and your horse to achieve your own personal goals. We welcome the pleasure rider and the high level competitor. At The Shire, we are family oriented and always try to mix fun with training.

We treat each and every horse like a show horse, and we want you to expect nothing but the highest level of care. Full care boarding includes large heavily bedded stalls, daily grooming, feeding 2-3x daily, supplements fed, and turnout. Board also includes blanketing, salt licks, and fly spray in the summer months. Every horses is maintained at a show quality with daily grooming and bathing as needed. Show grooming, braiding, mane pulling, and clipping available.

We also offer training and private & semi-private riding lessons.

We are a boarding and lesson facility serving the greater Kansas City area. We offer full care boarding for all breeds of horses with 52 stalls, a large indoor arena, an outdoor arena, a round pen, and turnout pens. Stalls are cleaned 6 days a week, and we feed 3x daily. Pasture board is also available. We also have a lesson program for children and adults - English / western / hunt. We also offer overnight boarding for horses (must have health certificate and current vaccinations).

Our program is aimed to help those entering the horse industry who stagger around looking for help but don't know where to get it. It is also an attempt to save those that represent the high casualty rate from falling out of the industry due to a lack of real knowledge. This is real horsemanship. No touchy feely, fluffy, guru type stuff where they lead you to the water but make you pay to drink. This effort is for the sake of the horses.

Horses are our business. With over 30 years experience, we will help you get what you want from your horse. We have a strong belief that the more you know, the better off your horse will be.

This is not a trot in a circle for an hour program. We will teach you why your horse does what he does and why he responds to our techniques. You will learn the psychology of the horse.
