Horse camps for all ages and abilities. Adult instructors have 60 years' combined experience. Camps are limited to 10 campers. We teach safety, basic horse care, and, of course, riding. One formal English riding lesson daily and one session of bareback riding and horseback games daily. Other activities include grooming, bathing, exercising, round pen, and more. Extended hours available with more horse related activities and learning opportunities. Covered arena and beautiful rolling countryside provide a wonderful camp experience in any weather. Beginners learn the basics of riding and horse care, and advanced students learn new techniques and improve equitation and jumping skills. Camps are held all summer and during all school breaks and holidays. On-line agenda and enrollment forms are available on our website.

Rockin' L & D Ranch's motto is: "YES, I CAN!" We help you achieve your personal and professional equine goals. Lori Hall-McNary, owner, trainer, and CHA Master Instructor is a third generation cowgirl who adheres to the three P's: Patience, Persistence, and Perseverance, for both her students and horses. Many of Lori's students show and win in the speed events: gymkhana, barrel racing, and cutting cows.

Equine education and setting the example for others is the key to safe riding. Regardless of age, Lori's students all wear helmets.

Youth involvement in the equine community is strongly encouraged to secure the future of the horse industry. Each year a student is awarded a scholarship to attend the Certified Horsemanship Association Standard Clinic Rockin' L & D hosts. Students of all ages are encouraged to expand their knowledge by attending the Equine Affaire in Pomona, California and the CHA Region 10 conference.

Roughing It Horse Camps offer specialty English and western riding programs for riders of all levels entering the 3rd-10th grades. We are located in the East Bay with transportation provided throughout the East Bay and San Francisco. Our comprehensive Certified Horsemanship Association lessons are designed to build skills and self confidence. All campers participate in 2-3 riding lessons daily, as well as horsemanship and animal care activities. See below for specific program activities:

Horse Day Camp: 2 week English riding camp for the horse crazy camper! 3 riding periods daily, including two daily formal riding lessons and one specialty mounted activity such as vaulting and pasture riding. Cross country jump course, horsemanship and vet care lessons, and a horse show every session. Located at our private riding site in Moraga.

Ranch Day Camp: 2 week western riding camp - a complete western, trail, and ranch experience! 2 riding periods daily.
