John Henry Rouson was highly regarded as one of the foremost artists of racehorses in the world. He painted several of the Triple Crown Winners and Racing Hall of Fame Horses, including "Secretariat", as well as a number of magnificent racing scenes. His paintings have graced the cover of Turf Magazine multiple times, as well as several other publications.

John Rouson also painted the Canadian Horse of the Year and the Queen's Plate Winner for the Canadian Jockey Club for many years. His paintings hang in honor at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto.

John Rouson was also an internationally syndicated cartoonist, featuring four comic strips - "Little Sport", "Little Eve", "Ladies Day", and "Boy & Girl".

John Henry Rouson was born in England and was a war hero in the British Navy during WWII. Lt Commander John Rouson courageously disposed of mines which threatened the security of Britain and the Allied Forces.
