Born with horses and cattle. Going on 71 years young, and I have dedicated my lifetime to working with horses. I have spent time on the rodeo circuit doing calf roping, horse shows, and gymkhanas and worked on cattle/horse ranches in the USA and Canada.

We base our training on the horse's needs and abilities. We use our training method to create more harmony and unity between horse and rider.

We have been doing our seminars and clinics privately to our customers only for almost 30 years and now in this past year have decided to go public.

Our training center focuses on working with cattle, all events in team penning, ranch type events, roping, professional barrel racing, trail riding and pleasure riding horses, starting horses, problem solving, trailer loading, and horse shows.

Owned and operated by Jessica Gillespie, Free Rein Horsemanship is an ever-evolving holistic approach of working with horses and people.

Incorporating many successful methods, such as the psychology of natural horsemanship and positive reinforcement techniques of clicker training, provides a basis of communication between the rider and horse. Jessica also embraces classical dressage, valuing 'light hands' and the importance of balance and biomechanics for a wide variety of different disciplines and sports.

Free Rein's goal is to improve the relationship between you and your horse - on the trail, trailer, in the arena, and anywhere else your aspirations lead you.

Jessica continually incorporates ground work and riding techniques into her training in order to adapt to every unique need of the horse as an individual.

We are located in Hockley Valley, Ontario, and frequently travel to private and public facilities in the surrounding area.

All instruction provided uses a combination of the deeply rooted tradition of the vaquero horsemanship methods and the influence of modern day horsemanship for maximum results with you and your horse. Training methods influenced through clinic attendance and participation with renowned horsemen Ray Hunt, Buck Brannaman, Bryan Neubert, Gwen and David Weaver, Martin Black, and Curt Pate. He considers himself a lifelong learner.

Attend lessons or Key Ranch clinics to build confidence, develop flexibility, achieve a positive and safe riding experience, and have fun. Also provides lessons, clinics, and events in colt starting, cattle work, ranch roping, ranch horse versatility, and ranch horsemanship.

Key Ranch is the host of some of the largest ranch ropings sanctioned by the Canadian Ranch Roping Association and one of the only properties in Canada to host renowned horseman Buck Brannaman.

I am a full time horse trainer that offers colt starting, finishing, conditioning, and problem solving in a gentle and humane manner. I am a certified western coach with the Certified Horsemanship Association and give both beginner/advanced lessons. With over 300 acres on our property, we have a variety of trail rides both all day and overnight. The property is also a camp and conference center where we run clinics and kids' camps. We also offer full horse board with access to an outdoor arena and the many different facilities.
